Kelpy laps brine
over open wounds
grinds sand
into oyster shell palms
whips waves - a swirl of froth
Once she beat
a sea robber into submission
swept under still grumbling
into a tangle of wreckage
his body a broken
ship pounding
ashore on rolling breakers
and spindrift dappled with seashine
