Morgan Block Studios Features Three Artists: Nancy Canyon, Ron Pattern, & Jill Smith
Every October, artists invite the community to their working art studios. The self-guided tour includes Bellingham and county artists located on a brochure and maps available throughout the city and on the WAST website. Mark your self-guided WAST map and take in the works of jewelers, painters, woodworkers, sculpters, potters, leather workers, and more. In my second floor studio #6, overlooking the bay, view my paintings, greeting cards, novel and poetry books, and a new selection of tiny art (see below) painted in acrylic paint. I will be demonstrating painting and collage. Be sure to sign up for future classes. And enjoy a cup of hot spiced cider as you mill about.
Be sure to sign up for my art classes, including Tiny Art, collage and writing, and other fun projects. Join with others in the relaxing atmosphere of my studio, work in room full of art, drink tea or wine, and eat some snacks while enjoying the company of friends, new and existing. Chat and make art together.
More Paintings: On the third floor, Ron Pattern and Jillian Smith, #13 & #14, will open their doors to rooms filled with beautiful landscapes and figurative work. One nice thing for customers, is you only have to park once to visit several people in one building. The parking is free on Sundays. Saturday, parking charges begin at 11:00, except in the lot south of our building, which is free. Look for the bright yellow Whatcom Artists Studio Tour signs to guide you to each location.
Greeting Cards:
One newer item that people enjoy are my cute greeting cards depicting whimsical animals & birds, made with brightly colored paint, and handmade decorated paper. Here are a couple of examples: Two Birds and Rocket Bird.
My greeting cards are printed on quality cardstock and include envelops inside a clear glassine, priced resonably at four dollars each. I have several card racks with whimsical cards as well as prints of my paintings: water lilies, ornamental cabbage, The Fairhaven Library, to name a few. The tiny paintings and cards make great gift ideas.
